How to Make Easy Homemade Vanilla Pudding:
Start by whisking together the Splenda, cornstarch, and salt in a medium-sized saucepan.
Slowly whisk in the milk until all the dry ingredients are fully incorporated.
Cook the mixture over medium heat, whisking until it begins to boil.
Once the mixture has boiled, reduce the heat and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, continuing to whisk.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Serving Suggestions:
- Add some fresh fruit: Pudding and fruit are a match made in heaven. Top your pudding with strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries for a pop of color and flavor.
- Use it as a dip: Cut up some fruit, pretzels or graham crackers and use the vanilla pudding as a dip. It’s a great way to switch up your usual snack routine.
- Make a parfait: Layer your vanilla pudding with some whipped cream and crumbled cookies or graham crackers.
- Add chocolate chips or nuts for added texture.
Tips and Tricks:
One of the most important things is to mix together the cornstarch and sugar before adding the milk. This will prevent clumps from forming in your pudding.
Be sure to whisk continuously as the pudding cooks, this will help prevent lumps and give you a smooth and creamy texture.
Use good quality vanilla extract. This will enhance the flavor of the pudding and make it taste more delicious.
When cooling the pudding, cover it with plastic wrap. This will help prevent a skin from forming on the surface.
