If you’ve never tried Chicken Milanese, you’re missing out!
This is your sign that you need to try it.

The word “Milanese” means you dredge thin slices of meat in flour, eggs, seasoned breadcrumbs, then fry it in oil.
This delicious chicken dish takes less than 30 minutes to prepare.
There wasn’t a whole lot I could do to make this recipe light except for limiting the amount of oil I used.
To lower the points I shallow-fried the chicken.
I added 1 tablespoon of oil to a nonstick frying pan, then added the chicken.
Since olive oil spray is 0 points I used that to spray the chicken before I flipped it over.
The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup of Italian breadcrumbs. You won’t use the total amount of either, so I only did 1/4 cup of each when I tracked them.

How to make Chicken Milanese:
Line up three shallow bowls. Put all-purpose flour in the first bowl, whisk two eggs in the second bowl, and add the Italian breadcrumbs to the third.
I used two thick chicken breasts that I cut in half lengthwise, which gave me 4 chicken breasts.
Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound the chicken thin. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Dredge the chicken in the flour, making sure to coat both sides. Do the same with the egg and Italian breadcrumbs.
Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Once it’s hot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then add the chicken breast.
Spray the top of the chicken with zero point olive oil spray. Let the chicken cook for 3 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
If you don’t have Italian breadcrumbs you can use regular breadcrumbs plus 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. The seasoned breadcrumbs give the chicken a lot of flavor.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. I usually reheat the chicken in the air fryer so the coating stays crispy.
This chicken pairs well with so many sides! Mashed potatoes, pasta, salad, or any type of vegetable.
