Chocolate Banana Bread will be your new favorite banana bread recipe!
Cocoa powder and chocolate chips make this a chocolate lovers dream.
This bread is perfect for breakfast or dessert!

Like any banana bread recipe, you will need ripe bananas. The browner the better.
If your bananas aren’t quite ripe enough you can place them in a paper bag and loosely fold over the top. The bananas should be ripe in 24-36 hours.
Bananas are a good source of potassium and vitamin B6, so this is a healthy snack. 🙂
How to make Chocolate Banana Bread:
In a medium bowl I whisked together the dry ingredients – all purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
Next, I added the bananas to a large bowl and mashed them. Then I added the unsweetened applesauce, sugar free maple syrup, skim milk and vanilla extract.
Mix together all of the wet ingredients then stir in the dry ingredients.
Pour batter into an 8.5 x 4.5 size loaf pan lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray.
I sprinkled 1 tablespoon of sugar free chocolate chips over the top of the bread.
Bake the bread 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
