So how did I lighten up this WW recipe? I changed up just a few ingredients to make it lower in points.
The first was using unsweetened applesauce instead of oil. Instead of using sugar I used sugar free maple syrup. These small changes helped to save a lot of points.
I searched the WW app for pumpkin bread. One slice of restaurant type pumpkin bread was 16 points!! My recipe saves 12-13 points per slice.
Here’s what you need to make Pumpkin Bread:
- Pumpkin
- Unsweetened applesauce
- Sugar free maple syrup
- Skim milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Pumpkin spice
- All purpose flour
To begin I added all of the wet ingredients to a bowl and mixed it together.
Next I set the wet ingredients aside and added the dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisked it together.
You want to pour the wet ingredients into the flour ingredients and mix it together.
I used a 1.5 quart bread pan that I sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. I poured the batter into the pan and baked it for 55 minutes.
When it was done baking I put the Pumpkin Bread on a wire rack to cool. I like to eat it while it’s still kind of warm but you can also wait until it’s room temperature.
You can eat the bread as is or you can add cream cheese or light butter.
Since this Pumpkin Bread is so low in points I might add some chocolate chips to it next time. That sounds delicious!

Yield: 8 servings (3 points per serving for blue and purple, 4 points for green)

Can you please tell me what kind of sugar free maple syrup you use?
I used Maple Grove Farms sugar free maple syrup
I make pumpkin bread similar to this but use ground oatmeal made into flour instead of the regular flour. Oatmeal is 0 points too! It’s delicious. Have you tried the sugar free Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup? It’s also delicious.
I’ll have to give it a try!
Mine was heavy on the bottom and didn’t finish baking even after 65 min. Any suggestions.?
