This homemade Ham and Cheese Hot Pocket is everything you could ask for in a WW recipe – it’s low in points, filling and delicious!
I used the two ingredient dough to keep these hot pockets low in points.
They’re easy to make and you only need a few ingredients.
You can make them in the air fryer or oven. I prefer the air fryer because it takes less time but they turn out delicious baked or in the air fryer.
This is what you need to make the Ham and Cheese Hot Pockets:
- Plain, fat free Greek yogurt
- Self-rising flour (not all purpose flour)
- Ham
- Reduced fat cheddar cheese
- One egg
I used Boar’s Head glazed honey ham. It was really good! You only need 5 ounces of it cut into small pieces.
If you’ve never used the two ingredient dough, it’s pretty easy to work with. It can be a little sticky so be sure to flour your work surface. You can also spray your hands with cooking spray so it doesn’t stick to them.
I divided the dough into 4 pieces. Each piece makes a large hot pocket. This is definitely a filling recipe.
Each hot pocket is 5 points for blue and purple, 6 points for green.
My daughter loves the Hot Pockets in the freezer section. She actually liked my hot pockets more!
Really I think anything you make homemade instead of in the freezer section tastes better.
Did I mention they are big? This picture gives you a better idea of the size:

Yield: 4 (5 points per serving for blue and purple, 6 points for green)
- 1 cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt
- 1 cup self-rising flour (NOT all purpose flour)
- 5 oz. Boar's Head glazed honey ham, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water
-
In a small bowl mix together the ham, cheddar cheese and garlic powder.
-
In a mixing bowl add the self-rising flour and yogurt. Mix together.
-
Sprinkle flour on your work surface. Add the dough and knead it for about 2 minutes. Divide the dough into four pieces.
-
Roll out the first piece of dough. Add 1/4 of the ham mixture to one side of the dough. Fold over the other piece of dough and seal closed using a fork along the edges. Repeat with the rest of the dough and ham.
-
Whisk together the egg and water, then brush on the top of the hot pockets.
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
-
Add the hot pockets to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Bake 18-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
-
Spray the air fryer with cooking spray. Add the hot pockets in a single layer (you may have to cook them in more than one batch).
-
Cook at 360 degrees for 8 minutes or until they are golden brown.
