You’re going to love this lightened up tuna pasta salad! It’s a refreshing take on a classic dish that everyone will love.
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this easy pasta salad.
It’s perfect for a side dish or a light lunch.

Ingredients You Will Need
The first thing I did to lighten up this recipe was using light Miracle Whip instead of regular. (You can use light mayonnaise if you prefer.)
I mixed 2 tablespoons of fat-free sour cream with the light Miracle Whip. (You can use fat-free Greek yogurt if you prefer.)
The last thing I used to make the dressing was a tablespoon of mustard. It helps add a bit of zing to the dressing.
For the tuna, I used white tuna packed in water. 5 oz. is zero points with Weight Watchers.
Pasta shells are always my go-to when making tuna pasta salad. You can use any cooked pasta of your choice, penne or rotini are good options too.
I also used celery and red onion, both add a nice crunch to the pasta salad.

How to Make the Tuna Pasta Salad
Start by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions until it is al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, combine the tuna, celery, and red onion.
In a small bowl, whisk together the light Miracle Whip, fat-free sour cream, and mustard.
Pour the dressing over the tuna and vegetable mixture and toss to coat everything evenly.
Finally, add the cooled pasta to the bowl and gently fold it into the mixture until it is well combined.
I like to refrigerate my pasta salad for at least an hour before eating.
Tips for Customizing the Recipe
Add more veggies! Feel free to add bell peppers, cucumber, or cherry tomatoes.
Spice things up – add a dash of hot sauce or some red pepper flakes for a kick of heat.
Get creative with herbs – try some fresh basil, dill, or cilantro to give you pasta salad a unique flavor.
Add some cheese – for a creamy touch, crumble some feta or sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over your salad. Just be sure to add any points if necessary.
