If you’ve ever tried Five Guys Cajun Fries you know they’re delicious! This copycat recipe lets you enjoy them at home while making them healthier.
You can make them in the air fryer or bake them in the oven. Both ways help lighten them up since they’re not fried in oil.
These fries are seasoned with a Cajun spice seasoning mix that’s easy to make.

One thing that makes Five Guys fries different than other fast-food fries is they are fried in peanut oil. If you or someone in your family has nut allergies you can use olive oil instead.
These fries are made with real potatoes. I bought a new fry cutter that made the most perfect French fries!
It was an Amazon purchase that was worth every penny. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. This is the fry cutter I bought:

In about 30 seconds I had perfectly cut potatoes!
I made my own Cajun spice mix using:
- Granulated sugar
- Smoked paprika
- Salt
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Oregano
- Red pepper flakes
- Black pepper
- Thyme
It’s as easy as adding all of the seasonings to a bowl and stirring them together. If you want to skip this step you can use store bought Cajun spice mix.
After my potatoes were cut I added them to a bowl and poured the peanut oil over them. I mixed them together with tongs then added the Cajun seasoning. Use the tongs to make sure all of the fries are covered in the Cajun spices.
I cooked my Cajun fries in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 13 minutes, stirring halfway through.
If you want to make your fries in the oven you can bake them at 450 degrees for 25 minutes.
