These Black Bean Tostadas are everything you could want and more!
They’re delicious, filling, easy to make, and budget-friendly.

This is how much I spent for the main ingredients:
- $3.79 – Ole corn tostadas
- $.79 – canned black beans
- $2.49 – reduced-fat Mexican cheese
I spent $7.07, that’s it! The garlic powder and cumin I already had.
Even after buying the tomato, avocado, and cilantro, it was under $10.
You get a lot of tostada shells, so you can use them for multiple meals. I also love Chicken Bacon Ranch Tostadas and BBQ Chicken Tostadas.
How I kept it low in points:
These canned black beans are zero points with WW. I love how filling they are!
Instead of adding oil to the black beans I added water and seasoned them with garlic powder and cumin to add flavor.
The points in this recipe come from the tostada shells and cheese.
I used four Ole corn tostadas which were 7 points.
Using reduced-fat Mexican cheese instead of full-fat cheese also helped to save points.

How to make Black Bean Tostadas:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cook the tostada shells for 5 minutes.
Drain and rinse the black beans then add them to a saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of water, garlic powder, and cumin.
Cook the beans over medium heat for 10 minutes. Once they start to break open use a masher or fork to break down the beans until creamy. You can add a tablespoon or two of water if the beans seem dry.
Divide the bean mixture into four servings and spread onto each tostada shell.
Sprinkle on the cheese and add your favorite toppings!
Zero point toppings I added were tomatoes and cilantro. I also added fat-free sour cream and avocado which added an extra point to each tostada.
