If you’ve ever been to Bonefish Grill and tried their Bang Bang Shrimp this recipe is a play on that.
I used the Bang Bang sauce to make a delicious salmon dish.
What is Bang Bang Sauce?
Bang Bang Sauce is made up of mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce and Sriracha. It can also include honey but I left it out to save points. I think it’s sweet enough with the sweet chili sauce.
To lighten up the Bang Bang Sauce I used light mayonnaise.
Making the sauce is as easy as adding the three ingredients to a small bowl and mixing it together.
Once the sauce is mixed together I divide it in half. The first half I spread over the salmon with a pastry brush, the second half I add to the cooked salmon.
I used two salmon fillets that were 4 ounces each. It may not sound like a lot but it was a good size piece of salmon!
Using a food scale is the most accurate way to weigh your food. I use it for meats, pasta, cheese and so much more.
To make the salmon I sprayed a baking sheet with olive oil spray, then added the fresh salmon.
I brushed on the Bang Bang Sauce then baked the salmon at 375 for 15-20 minutes. It depends on how thick your salmon fillets are.
For medium cooked salmon it should be 125 to 130 degrees F. Using a digital meat thermometer is the safest way to make sure it’s done baking.
After the salmon is done baking I drizzle on the remaining Bang Bang Sauce.
You can serve the salmon with rice or cauliflower rice. You can also top it with green onion or serve it with lemon wedges.
