Can you believe I just had Cracker Barrel for the first time in my life!?
Boy have I been missing out! Everything I tried was delicious.
I wanted to try making the Cracker Barrel Baby Carrots because they’re such a good (and low point) side dish.

Plus they’re easy to make, four ingredients is all you need.
There wasn’t much I could do to make this recipe lighter other than using light butter. I didn’t want to substitute the brown sugar because it would change the taste.
Here’s what you need to make Cracker Barrel Baby Carrots:
- Baby carrots
- Brown sugar
- Light butter
- Salt
I used 1 lb. of baby carrots and broke the recipe into four servings. Each serving was about 3/4 cup. This recipe can easily be doubled if you’re serving a larger croud.
If you don’t have baby carrots you can use regular carrots, just cut them into smaller pieces. I prefer the baby carrots because you don’t have to peel them.
The only prep work you need to do is to rinse the carrots.
Once that is done place carrots in a sauce pan. Fill the pan with enough water, you want it to the top of the carrots.
Turn heat to medium high and bring the carrots to a boil. Switch to medium heat and cover carrots. Let them cook for 20 minutes.
When the 20 minutes is up drain half of the water then add the brown sugar, butter and salt. Let the carrots simmer 10 minutes.
You should be able to pierce the carrots with a fork when they’re ready.
This is a great side dish for the holidays. It’s easy to make and goes great with turkey, chicken or steak.
It’s also a great carrot side dish for your weeknight dinner.

I was pleasantly surprised by the healthier options on the Cracker Barrel menu when I went recently! The lemon pepper trout is phenomenal! Their carrots were something I was curious to try but I haven’t yet. Now I can just make them at home!
I’ll have to try the trout! 🙂
