These Italian Hawaiian Roll Sliders are lightened up and delicious!
They’re like little mini subs that are easy to make and perfect for parties.
I filled them with ham, pepperoni, cheese, pepperoncini’s and roasted red peppers.
Recently I had a ham and cheese version of these sliders that my boyfriends mom made. They were delicious! That’s what inspired me to make this Italian version.
While her sliders were incredible I don’t think they were WW friendly. I knew I could find a way to lighten them up.
One thing a lot of the Hawaiian roll slider recipes have in common is to drizzle melted butter over the top of them. That’s a lot of points!
Instead of using butter I used I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter spray. I used about 12 sprays which is 0 points.
I used a basting brush to spread the butter all over the rolls then added Italian seasoning, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese. It worked perfect!
For the filling for these Italian sliders I started with ham, which is pretty low in points. I used 4 oz. of Boar’s Head deluxe ham and it was only 2 points.
Instead of using regular pepperoni I used turkey pepperoni. 20 turkey pepperoni is only 2 points and they taste just like regular pepperoni.
I used 1 cup of part-skim mozzarella shredded cheese which was 10 points.
The mild peppers and roasted red peppers were 0 points.
These Italian Hawaiian Roll Sliders are 5 points each for blue, green and purple.
Let me tell you, they were a huge hit with my kids!
Yield: 12 sliders (5 points each for blue, green and purple)
- 1 pack Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
- 4 oz. Boar's Head deluxe ham
- 20 turkey pepperoni
- 1 cup part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Mild peppers
- Roasted red peppers
- 12 pumps I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, spray
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and remove the top. Place the bottom rolls in a baking pan.
Add the ham to the Hawaiian rolls, then the pepperoni followed by the mozzarella cheese. Add the mild peppers and roasted red peppers.
Place the Hawaiian roll tops back on and spray with the butter. Use a basting brush to spread butter evenly over the roll tops. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
