These Shrimp Kabobs are easy to make and low in points!
(This post contains affiliate links. Please see my disclosure for more info.)
For blue and purple you can have one kabob for only 1 point or two kabobs for 3 points. With green they are 2 points each.
These kabobs are perfect for throwing on the grill in the summer or for cooking on the stove in the winter.

During the winter I use a grill pan to cook the kabobs.
This is the one I used:

These kabobs are made up of shrimp and smoked turkey sausage – I used 10 oz. of the smoked turkey sausage which was 16 points. You will want to doublecheck your points based on the type of sausage you used. I used Kroger brand.
The shrimp I bought was peeled and deveined. It was frozen so I let it thaw out in the fridge the night before.
I mixed the shrimp with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. If you don’t want it to be spicy you can leave out the red pepper flakes.
These are the skewers I used:

They are 8 inch skewers which was perfect for these kabobs. It fit 3 shrimp plus 3 pieces of sausage.
I cut the sausage in 1/2 inch rounds, then cut those in half. That size fit perfectly on the skewers.
The thing I like about cooking shrimp is that it’s easy to tell when it’s cooked. It starts out translucent then turns white with some pink on it when it’s cooked.
I cooked the shrimp for about 3 minutes on each side.
These are great for a low point dinner!

Yield: 12 kabobs (1 kabob is 1 point with blue and purple, or 2 for 3 points. With green each kabob is 2 points.)
- 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined with the tail on
- 10 oz. smoked turkey sausage
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of crushed red pepper
-
Put the shrimp in a bowl. Add the Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder and red pepper flakes then stir together.
-
Cut the smoked turkey sausage into 1/2 inch pieces, then cut each piece in half.
-
Place one end of the shrimp onto the skewer, then the turkey sausage, followed by the other end of the shrimp. I fit three shrimp and three pieces of sausage on each skewer. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients.
-
Cook the skewers on a grill pan on the stovetop or on an outdoor grill. Cook until the shrimp is white with some pink on it – about 3 minutes on each side.
