I have another delicious dip recipe that will be perfect for a Super Bowl party!
This pizza dip is so good, nobody will even know it is Weight Watchers friendly. I like that you can also serve it with baked tortilla chips and Tostidos. Both taste great with this dip.
If you want to keep it low in carbs you could even eat this with celery sticks.
What inspired me to make this dip is one of my favorite dips of all time. I’m not sure if it has a name, but it’s cream cheese, a can of chili and cheddar cheese. That’s it!
It’s probably the easiest dip you can ever make. I don’t usually eat canned chili, but I love it with that dip.
The bottom layer of this pizza dip is also cream cheese, but I used reduced-fat cream cheese. I added oregano and garlic powder to it. I think that gave it a bit of a “pizza” taste.
The next layer is pizza sauce. I only used a 1/2 cup, which is 2 Freestyle points.
I sprinkled one tablespoon of Parmesan cheese onto the sauce, then added the part-skim mozzarella cheese.
I used turkey pepperoni instead of regular pepperoni because they are much lower in points. Fun fact, my daughter actually prefers turkey pepperoni now. That’s really good considering when I first bought them she didn’t want to even try them.
I cut each slice of pepperoni into four pieces. That made them bite size and it helped to cover most of the dip.
The last step is to bake the dip for 25 minutes or until the shredded cheese is melted.
This is a great dip to take to a party! Simply prepare it at home, then bake it when you get to your destination.
Yield: 15 Servings (approximately 2 tablespoons per serving) 2 points per serving for blue, green and purple
- 8 oz. reduced-fat cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 9 slices turkey pepperoni
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl mix together the cream cheese, oregano and garlic powder.
Spread the cream cheese mixture across the bottom of a pie dish.
Next, spread the pizza sauce across the cream cheese mixture.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the pizza sauce.
Add the shredded mozzarella cheese.
Cut the 9 turkey pepperoni into 4 pieces each, then place them on the mozzarella cheese.
Bake 25 minutes, or until the shredded cheese is melted.
