Taco Pizza
You’re going to love this fusion of two beloved comfort foods: pizza and tacos!
Instead of a traditional pizza crust, I opted for a thin crust, which is crispier like a taco shell.
The pizza itself has all of the delicious flavors of a taco: seasoned ground beef, cheese, taco sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and onion.

Keeping It Light:
One of the things I love about this Taco Pizza is you can customize it to what you like.
If you’re cutting back on red meat, you can use lean ground turkey instead of ground beef.
I used 96% lean ground beef for my Taco Pizza.
For the pizza dough, I used Pillsbury thin pizza crust. I like using it because it’s filling, but lower in points than regular pizza crust.
When it came to the cheese, I went with reduced-fat Mexican cheese. I used a food scale to weigh four ounces of shredded cheese.
I feel like when I weigh out the cheese it’s a lot more than when I use a measuring cup.
The points in this recipe come from the pizza crust, ground beef, taco sauce, and cheese. I topped the pizza with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and fat-free sour cream.
Sticking to 3 tablespoons of fat-free sour cream only added 1 point to the entire pizza.
Some other 0 point toppings include jalapenos and cilantro.

How to Make Taco Pizza:
With the Pillsbury thin crust pizza dough you need to partially bake it before adding the toppings.
Unroll the pizza dough on a baking sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Follow the baking directions on the package.
While the dough was baking, I got the seasoned ground beef ready.
Add the ground beef to a pan, break it up into small pieces, and cook until it is no longer pink.
Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Let the meat mixture cook until the sauce thickens.
Once the pizza dough is partially baked, add the taco sauce and spread evenly across the pizza.
Add the seasoned ground beef to the pizza dough and top it with the shredded Mexican cheese.
Place the pizza back in the oven for 6-10 minutes. Once the crust is golden and the cheese is melted your pizza is done.
Let the pizza cool slightly before adding the toppings.
