Ingredients

  • 1 Pillsbury thin crust pizza dough
  • 8 oz. 96% lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons taco sauce (I used Ortega)
  • 1 cup reduced-fat Mexican cheese, shredded

Optional Toppings:

  • Shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and fat-free sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven according to the pizza dough directions. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Unroll the pizza dough and partially bake for 6 minutes.
  • Add ground beef to a pan. Break into small pieces and cook until no longer pink. Drain the grease.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Cook over medium heat until the sauce has thickened.
  • Spread the taco sauce over the pizza crust, leaving a 1/2-inch border along the outside.
  • Top the taco sauce with the seasoned ground beef, and the Mexican cheese.
  • Place the pizza back in the oven for 6-10 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Let the pizza cool slightly before adding your toppings.
