These sausage balls are lightened up and WW friendly!
I think most people have had sausage balls at some point in their life. They’re great at parties or anytime really!
Sometimes I even have them with breakfast. Two sausage balls with some scrambled eggs. It’s delicious and filling.

To make these sausage balls lighter I started by using turkey sausage. That saved 11 points.
8 oz. of turkey sausage is 11 points while the same amount of Italian sausage is 22 points.
These still taste great with turkey sausage!
Instead of using regular Bisquick I used Bisquick Heart Smart. It’s just a lightened up version of Bisquick.
Next up is the cheese. Instead of using regular cheese I used reduced-fat.
Another great thing about this recipe is it’s super easy to make. You simply combine the sausage, Bisquick and cheese together in a mixing bowl.
The best way to mix it together is with your hands. It will be very dry. After I got it pretty mixed up I added 1 tablespoon of skim milk.
Adding the milk helped get it all mixed together. Then I started rolling the balls.
I made them 1″ balls and was able to get 20 balls out of it. The final step is to bake them for 15 minutes.
These taste great served with your favorite sauce. I like a reduced-fat ranch or even sugar free BBQ sauce.
Two of these sausage balls are 3 points for blue, green and purple.

With the holidays right around the corner this is a great recipe to keep in mind.
Not only are they WW friendly they are loved by everyone. Your family won’t even know it’s a lightened up version.
These sausage balls can also be kept in the fridge for a couple days. You can eat them cold out of the fridge or you can warm them up. Whatever you prefer!

Sounds yummy. I buy 99% fat free turkey, so that would be even fewer points. A dash or two of worschesreshire sauce could be good too.
Do you cook the sausage first or mix it raw.
The sausage is raw.
