It’s almost time for the Super Bowl! That means it’s time for me to start trying out some new recipes to make for the big game.Let me tell you, this Taco Dip is a keeper!
It’s easy to make and you can keep it in the slow cooker. That way your guests can nibble away all day…if it lasts that long.
You can have 1/4 cup of this dip for only 3 Freestyle points. I served my dip with baked tortilla chips. You could also serve celery and carrots with it to keep it really low in points.
I used Ole Xtreme high fiber tortillas because they are only 1 Freestyle point per tortilla. To me they don’t taste like they are high in fiber, especially when they are baked.
I made this taco dip on the stove top but for a party I will use a slow cooker, that way the dip stays warm.
There are a few things I did to lighten up this recipe. To start with I used 99% fat free ground turkey, since it is 0 points.
I used reduced fat cream cheese and reduced fat Mexican shredded cheese. I couldn’t even tell a difference!
I used fat free salsa which was 0 points.
To make the taco dip I cooked the ground turkey and garlic, then added the taco seasoning and mixed it together.
Then I added the cream cheese and Mexican cheese. Once that was melted and blended I added the salsa.
That’s it! You can make it on the stove top, then transfer it to a slow cooker to keep it warm.
Or you can cook the turkey on the stove top, then transfer it to a slow cooker with all of the other ingredients. Make sure to stir it often. I would cook it on low for 1 hour and then switch it to warm.

Yield: 14 servings (3 points per serving for blue, green and purple) approximately 1/4 cup per serving

-
Add the salsa and stir until combined. Keep warm over low heat until ready to serve.

Where do you find fat free salsa?
I used Pace brand salsa. I think a lot of them are fat free, just check the labels.
