These strawberry pretzel bites are a perfect snack if you are looking for something salty and sweet!
They taste great, you can make them in minutes and they’re low in points! That’s everything I look for in a snack.
I buy Kroger brand waffle pretzels. You can have 30 for only 5 Freestyle points. If you happen to use a different type of pretzel make sure to double check the points.
I used 1.5 oz. of reduced fat cream cheese which is 4 Freestyle points. I also used 1 tablespoon of sugar free maple syrup, which was 0 points.
The total points for 30 strawberry pretzel bites is 9 Freestyle points. As much as I like them I don’t eat 30 strawberry pretzel bites at a time.
I usually share them with my kids or pop them in the leftovers in the fridge for later.
Making these strawberry pretzel bites is very easy. First I laid out the pretzels.
Next I added the reduced-fat cream cheese and sugar free maple syrup to a bowl and mixed it together, making sure there were no lumps.
I only wanted to add a small amount of the cream cheese mixture to the pretzels, so I added it to a zip up bag, then I popped a hole in the bag using a toothpick.
It was my personalized pastry bag. It let me control the amount of cream cheese I added to each pretzel.
Once the cream cheese was added I topped each one with a strawberry slice.
This is also a snack that is great for kids. Sometimes my kids consider what I eat to be diet food…I think they mean healthy food. But these strawberry pretzel bites are a snack they love.
Much better than any snack they could get from McDonalds!
