The Ingredients

Chicken Breast: Chicken breast is a lean source of protein that helps keep you feeling full and satisfied. It’s low in fat while providing important nutrients like B vitamins, selenium, and phosphorus.

The high protein content makes this recipe a great option for a healthy, filling meal.

Bell Peppers: Bell peppers add natural sweetness, color, and crunch while being low in calories. They are packed with vitamin C, which supports a healthy immune system, and they also provide antioxidants that help protect your cells.

Using a variety of colors gives you a wider range of nutrients.

Onion: Onions add tons of flavor without adding many calories. They contain antioxidants and sulfur compounds that may support heart health and help reduce inflammation.

They also provide a small amount of fiber to help keep you satisfied.

Olive Oil: A small amount of olive oil helps keep the chicken moist and allows the seasonings to coat the ingredients evenly. Olive oil contains heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and antioxidants.

Since only a tablespoon is used for the entire recipe, it adds flavor without adding excessive calories or points.

Fresh Lime Juice: Lime juice brightens up the flavors of the fajita seasoning and adds acidity without extra calories. It’s also a good source of vitamin C and helps enhance the taste of the vegetables and chicken.

Homemade Fajita Seasoning: The homemade blend of chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne adds bold flavor without relying on high-calorie sauces or seasoning packets that can be higher in sodium.

These spices also provide antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds while keeping the recipe light and flavorful.
