This is a quick and easy meal that’s full of flavor!
It’s another recipe that’s perfect for those busy weeknights.
Plus it’s a light recipe that’s WW friendly!

How I kept this recipe light:
Instead of using pork or beef sausage I used chicken sausage.
I used Simple Truth Italian chicken sausage. Four links were only 12 points.
Using pork or beef sausage can be twice as many points.
Limiting the amount of pasta I used was another way to keep this recipe light. I only used 6 ounces of bow tie pasta and I used a food scale to weight it.

Leaving oil out of this recipe saved a lot of points.
When I cooked the sausage, onions, and peppers I added a little bit of water, that way the sausage didn’t burn.
Instead of using oil to cook the grape tomatoes I used chicken broth.
This pasta dish has so much flavor with the sausage, onions, red pepper, garlic, tomatoes, and fresh basil. Because of this, I left out the cheese. You can definitely add some fresh Parmesan cheese for more flavor, just make sure to add the points.
How to make Easy Sausage Pasta:
Cook and drain the bow tie pasta according to the directions on the box.
Add 1/2 cup water to a large skillet or pan. Then add the chicken sausage, onion, and red pepper.
Let it cook until the water evaporates.
The chicken sausage I bought was already cooked so I only had to warm it up.
Remove the chicken sausage, onion, and red pepper, then cut the sausage into slices.
Add 1/2 cup chicken broth to the pan with the grape tomatoes. Cover and cook the tomatoes 5 minutes.
I used a masher to break up the tomatoes once they were soft. Then I added in the garlic.
Let that cook for 1 minute then stir in the pasta, onion, red pepper, sausage, and fresh basil.
Serve as is or add some fresh Parmesan cheese.
I calculated this recipe as four large servings. Each serving was 2 cups. You could also change it to 6 servings for fewer points.
