To make this Blackened Shrimp I started by making the seasoning. You need:
- Smoked paprika
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Cayenne pepper
- Oregano
- Thyme
Making the seasoning is as easy as adding everything to a small bowl and mixing it together.

For this recipe you can use fresh or frozen shrimp. If you’re using frozen shrimp you’ll want to thaw it first.
I bought shrimp that was deveined with the tails removed. Pat the shrimp with paper towel and add them to a large bowl.
Add the seasoning to the shrimp and toss it to coat. Make sure all of the shrimp is covered with seasoning.

You want to add the shrimp to a hot pan in a single layer. I used a nonstick pan that I misted with olive oil spray.
The pan should be on medium-high heat. I cooked my shrimp for 3 minutes on each side.
I like to add a little fresh lime juice when my shrimp is done cooking.
This Blackened Shrimp is perfect when you want to make dinner but don’t have a lot of time!
