Spaghetti Pie

A pasta dish for only 6 points per serving? Yes please!! And it has melted cheese? This could be the perfect dinner.

This spaghetti pie is something I’ve been making for years, but I’ve lightened it up. It used to have ground beef and more cheese in it. I honestly don’t miss it. It’s lighter yet still filling.

I used store bought spaghetti sauce for this which was 5 points. I have made my own sauce in the past which reduced the points by 1 point per serving.

This is why I always double check what points are in a recipe I’m making even if it comes with the point value.

How to make Spaghetti Pie:

Start by boiling a pot of water.

I used 6 ounces of uncooked noodles. Using a food scale is the best way to make sure it’s the correct amount.

Add salt to the water once it’s boiling then add the noodles. Cook according to the package directions but don’t overcook since they will also be baking in the oven.

Drain the noodles when they’re done cooking.

In a small bowl whisk the egg.

Put the noodles back in the original pan then stir in the whisked egg, Parmesan cheese and salt.

Spray the pie pan with nonstick cooking spray, then press the noodle mixture into the pie dish.

Add the spaghetti sauce to the pasta and spread evenly across.

Top with the mozzarella cheese and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the noodles are cooked through.

I usually have my spaghetti pie with a salad. It’s the perfect Italian meal!

I keep the salad low in points by just adding veggies to it and using a low point salad dressing.
