Beef Noodle Casserole

Ingredients

  • 10 oz. egg noodles
  • 1 lb. 96% lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes (drained)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Boil a large pot of water and cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Do not overcook.
  • Add the ground beef to a large skillet. Cook beef over medium heat while breaking it up into small pieces. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Once the beef is slightly brown add the onion and garlic.
  • When the beef is cooked through drain any grease.
  • Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Bring the meat mixture to a simmer then turn off the heat. Stir in the egg noodles.
  • Pour into a 9x13 baking dish and top with the cheese.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.
