Air Fryer Meatballs with Easy Gravy (Oven Instructions Included)

Ingredients

For the meatballs:

  • 1 lb. 96% lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons skim milk
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

For the gravy:

  • 1 teaspoon Better Than Bouillon beef base (mixed with once cup warm water)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Add the breadcrumbs, egg, skim milk, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, and Italian seasoning to a large mixing bowl. Mix together until well combined.
  • Add the ground beef and combine.
  • Use a cookie scoop to shape 20 meatballs and add them to the air fryer basket. Make sure the meatballs are in a single layer and not touching. Cook for 9 minutes at 400 degrees or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

For the oven:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Add the meatballs.
  • Bake 13-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Making the gravy:

  • Make the gravy while the meatballs are cooking. Add the Better Than Bouillon beef base (with 1 cup of water) to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
  • Mix together the cornstarch and water. Whisk the cornstarch mixture into the beef broth. Let it simmer for 5 minutes while occasionally whisking.
