Meatball Subs

Ingredients
  • Baked Italian meatballs (the recipe makes 24 meatballs)
  • Sargento mozzarella cheese slices, cut in half
  • hot dog buns (I used ones that were 3 points each)
For the sauce:
  • 30 oz. Tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
  1. Add the tomato sauce and seasonings to a pan. Bring to a light simmer, then cover with a lid. Let simmer for 15 minutes.

  2. Add the meatballs to the tomato sauce.

  3. Open the hot dog buns and place on a baking sheet. Add three meatballs to one side of the hot dog bun.

  4. Add a half slice of cheese to the other side of the hot dog bun.

  5. Put under the broiler until the cheese is melted.
