Not gonna lie, I could eat this every day for lunch!
I figured this Weight Watchers Tuna Melt would be good, but I was surprised at how good it was!
So good that I’ve had it two days in a row. I have to be careful because when I find something that I love I tend to eat it a bunch of days in a row. Then I’ll sometimes get tired of it.
I’m not going to let that happen with this gem. As difficult as it may be I’m going to wait until the weekend to have another one.
Overall a typical tuna melt isn’t that bad for you. It’s the butter, cheese and “regular” bread that will get you into trouble.
I used Sara Lee whole wheat honey bread because it is only 1 point per slice. I used Sargento Ultra Thin mild cheddar cheese because it is low in points. Instead of using regular butter I used I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter spray. It was zero points for the spray!
I wasn’t sure how well the spray butter would work, but it was perfect. As you can tell by the picture the bread got nice and toasted.

Speaking of the picture, I had a little bit of help with this one. You would never know but it was actually a dark and rainy day when I took the picture.
My almost 16 year old daughter is taking a photography class in school. She told me she would help me learn how to use my fancy camera.
That was a win win for me because I get to learn new things and we got to hang out together. It’s not always easy to find things to do with teenagers!
Yesterday was our first “class” so now I’ll have to come up with more recipes so she can teach me more.

Hi. This looks yummy but I am wondering about the bread. Sara Lee honey while wheat bread is 1 point?
Hi, yes the Sara Lee whole wheat with honey bread is 45 calories per slice and only 1 point. It’s good too!
I use Sara Lee 45 calorie bread. It is 3 points for both slices. Keto bread is 1 point per slice and I think the brand is Natures Own or something like that at Walmart. Sometimes cheaper than Sara Lee.
Looks yummy! I don’t have the ultra thin slices. How much of a block of cheese can I substitute? 1/2 oz? 1 oz?
1/2 oz. cheddar cheese would be two points, the same as the ultra thin. 🙂
Just going to say these are brilliant! I will be checking out more recipes from you. And thank you for breaking down all the info. My youngest grandson loves to cook so i will be handing these recipes for him to make for me. For Christmas, at 14, he was asking for cooking equipment, bless him.
That’s great! Sounds like you have a personal chef. 🙂
I don’t have the ultra thin slices as well I have Kraft slices how much will that be and I’m using Dave’s killer bread 70 cal thin slices is this ok.
You would have to check the points for the cheese and bread to adjust the points if necessary.
Use natures own whole wheat bread it’s a legitimate 1 point per slce
I avoid using I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. The margarine or the spray. It’s got too many unhealthy oils and additives. Can I use an olive oil spray instead?
Yes! I’ve actually switched to the olive oil spray for most recipes too. 🙂
I made my first tuna melt using your recipe. It was fabulous. Except I used olive oil spray. I loved it
Yay!!!
